We have been operating for 24 years, this year – officially since 2008!

Legacy from 2000

We had a gathering of some of our “Oldies”- children that have been through Hlanganani and are now grown up and some with families of their own. To hear their testimonies was very rewarding, so special and all glory to God for bringing them through. Thank you to all who made it possible. Here’s a pic of the gathering.

Into 2024

Our Family Co-ordinator (Sharon) says……….

The year is progressing well this far, with everybody looking forward to achieving more. We have had two mentor groups and the children are ever looking forward to these programs. It is where they engage in various activities such as games, story reading, discussions about life, baking and homework assistance to mention a few. They are also well-fed, as they receive food parcels, clothing and stationery. Hlanganani makes all means to meet the needs of the children. The HBC and staff members work well together to ensure that the social, emotional, and physical well-being of the children are met. As an organisation, we believe in familism, such that we are a big family. When one has a heartache, we all share the tears and support each other. When one is joyful, we all share the joy. This keeps us bonded together in an incredible manner. Above all, God is the centre of it all and we have complete understanding that we are nothing without Him.

In Memorium

We are very sad to have lost one of our dear Home Based Carers who served with Hlanganani for many years, Matapelo Mosia. She was so kind, and gentle and served with a BIG heart. God has received another angel.

Mentoring

Mentoring has been twice this year as we settled in and got things going. A huge thank you to Chemunique who gives us chicken towards the meetings. Thanks to the cooks, for the food and clearing and cleaning the venue in Cosmo City. The venue, Ebenezer Hope, is a Preschool (Early Childhood Development Center) and is a business, run by Maseline and Phiri who also are Home Based Carers to some of our children, which are distributed all over the Cosmo City and Lanseria area.

Mentoring contd.

On Sunday, 18th February, a team of 9 from Junction Church joined the Hlanganani Children at Ebenezer Nursery School for a time of Games, Praise and Worship, a time of Sharing from the Word and some Tutoring. We had an incredible time imparting into these precious lives. It warmed our hearts to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they received a meal, a food pack and a sweet treat. Thank you to all who diligently continue to reach out and pray for this ministry. Gal 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
